About the Artist
ChrisTine Samolyk
My eyes have always delighted in the beauty of creation.
Since childhood, I've desired to paint what I see. And then one day, the Lord opened the eyes of my heart. His Word revealed to me His holiness, my need for forgiveness and His Son, Jesus Christ. Today, I paint with a different perspective - one that involves both my eyes and my heart. And though my paintings don't come close to what the Greatest Artist of all time places before us, His truth is perfect and never changing. Bringing them together brings me joy.

I studied to be an artist in college, and made a living in advertising and marketing around the years of raising my family. Today, my husband and I live in New Hampshire which has become the main focus of my paintings. We are a family of eight with adult children and grandchildren. Now I enjoy the gift of time to return to the fine arts and communicate messages of the heart.

Choosing the Scriptures
There are Scriptures that speak to me on a given day and they encourage me to trust God and to help others. Those are the scriptures I place in the prints. There is no science to this, just inspiration from the Author.

Quotes are taken from both the New & Old Testaments using the English Standard Version (ESV).
Making the Prints

1
Painting
My paintings have been created over many years in oil, acrylic and watercolor in my studio. The subjects are photographed for reference and I start with pencil drawings. I typically add a layer of color onto the canvas, and then transfer the drawing image before paint is applied using different techniques.
2
type & Design
The square format was chosen for the prints because it works well in small space decor. The image is typically a section of an original painting. The typeface chosen for the current print collection represents how I hear God's Word - it's personally handwritten and active.

Printing
Bringing the image, type and design together is done in graphics software to format for printing. The reproduction process is done on a fine art ink jet system using archival paper and ink on premium matte paper. It is also known as giclee or museum quality printing. This process delivers great image quality and print longevity.
